The pond is a diverse ecosystem and provides a habitat for water fowl and amphibians
Feeding the Birds
Feeding the birds is a great activity especially for children . Please avoid feeding the ducks bread . this contains very little nutrition and lowers the water quality . some good alternatives are Sweetcorn , Lettuce , Peas (no need to cook them But thaw frozen ones) Seeds , Rice , oats
Improvements
in 2023 we secured funding and engaged a local contractor to construct a footpath around the north side of the pond .

we have begun clearing channels in the east end to allow the water to flow more freely and to give the swans access to the area for nesting again

We Have managed to Clear several metres so far , the work is slow going but we are making progress . the 20 plus years of vegetation has choked the flow considerably
